Professor Ruth Nettle
RSHA Independent Chair
ranettle@unimelb.edu.au
Ruth leads the Rural Innovation Research Group at the University of Melbourne, with a prime research focus on better understanding the conditions and needs of the agricultural workforce in Australia and internationally.
Her research has explored changes in the social organization of farms and farm workforces, farm system resilience, farm employment relations influencing the attraction and retention of employees, rural workforce planning and action and agricultural extension design and policy. Safety threads through each of these areas and Ruth brings this ‘big picture’ to the thinking in RSHA.
